Green Issues Reporting for Journalists Training

From October to November 2024, the Lao Journalists’ Association (LJA) and CARE Laos successfully organized training on Green Issues Reporting for Journalists under the GAMCIL project in the central, Vientiane Capital, northern, Luang Prabang province, and southern Champasak province, with over 60 people. The training was designed to help journalists improve their skills, especially in reporting on environmental issues.

With support from the European Union, Lao journalists learned about researching information for news writing, compelling storytelling skills, using digital tools to help with reporting, gender equality in the digital era, green development and environmental issues, media management, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help with media work, journalistic ethics, and basic knowledge of video and photo editing. After completing the training, participants also went to the field to collect data with people working in agriculture, using the lessons and skills from the training to help with writing stories and creating videos.
